HOMEWORK CLUB
ABOUT US

When you subscribe, your child gets an invitation, every week, to a live one hour revision lesson. The live nature of the lesson encourages participation by your child, that a work sheet plonked in front of them just can’t compete with.
An hour of one to one tutoring by a professional tutor costs about the same as the 36 hours of weekly lessons on Homework Club.
We suggest you buy a new exercise book for your child to do the work in . Watch their progress as they mark and self-asses their weekly exercises. Part of Homework Club philosophy is that pupil’s mark their work, assess and monitor their progress and then fill in the gaps using the free resources that you can find in useful link section.
HOW IT WORKS
HOMEWORK CLUB
Homework Club run 36 weekly lessons for GCSE students in years 9, 10 & 11. Each lesson lasts one hour and is presented live by our team of experienced and qualified teachers. These 36 lessons are split into 3 terms AUTUMN, SPRING and SUMMER. Each year group have their lessons at the same set time each week.
The Lessons are presented live. To access these lessons you will need to subscribe to our site and also have access to MICROSOFT Teams. (MS Teams can be down loaded free by Clicking Here.)
Each week you will be sent an appointment on Teams. You will then join the meeting and participate in the homework lesson.
LET’S LOOK AT A TYPICAL LESSON, IN THIS CASE MATHS
A TYPICAL LESSON
The teacher says hi and explains what we will be looking at in today’s lesson. (1 minute)
The topic that you will already have learnt at your school will be revised and re-explained. (10mins)
Students will make a start on the embedded or downloadable exercise. (39 mins)
Hopefully the student can work through the exercise without help and will do so with the volume muted.
Roughly 8 – 10 minutes after the CONSOLIDATION exercise has started, the teacher will begin to go through each question for those pupils who are struggling with the work. This HEADSTART forces students to look and attempt the exercise without assistance, but they know that an explanation is on its way. (31 mins)
Ten minutes from the end of the lesson the teacher will conclude the lesson. In maths this might include an explanation of the tough extension questions.
Importantly, it will always involve the answers being read out. Pupils then mark their work and assess their own learning. (10 mins)
In maths it’s easy to see how you did. Did you need theHEADSTART explanations? If you did then perhaps you still need extra consolidation, where might you find this? How about looking at our useful links.
See you next week : Same time, same place.
